Asian paints - social media approach
Our research into Asian Paints’ target audience revealed that social media played an important part in the inspiration process. Platforms such as Pinterest and YouTube were hugely popular with their customers. It was thus essential to engage the customers on these spaces.
With this in mind, we proposed a complete overhaul. No longer would Asian Paints talk only about painting! Instead, we would enable conversations about colour in the context of home décor, via home décor tips, DIY ideas, colour trivia and other engaging and relevant content.
In addition to creating and participating in conversations about colour, we also enabled customers to be a part of the inspiration process. By driving crowd-sourced content through platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest, we let the customers became co-creators of the brand.
Besides posting inspiring content that sparked the customer’s imagination, we also promoted various features of the website that would enable the customer to carry his vision to fruition.
Birla sun life mutual fund - campaign microsite
We had a challenge on our hands. The need of the hour was to change the public perception of mutual funds. The task at hand was not just investor education, but investor empowerment. One thing was for sure - if we were to educate a listless audience about mutual funds, things had to be kept simple, easy to understand, and most of all, fun!
Through research, we identified three key barriers that prevent people from investing in mutual funds – impatience for quick returns, the misconception that a lot of money is required to invest in mutual funds, and lastly, the perception that mutual funds are extremely risky. These misconceptions needed to be broken.
Instead of delivering discourses about the benefits of mutual funds, we decided to draw parallels to real life situations that people could actually relate to. With a parallax design approach that enabled the user to effortlessly explore through interactive info-graphics, the customer was encouraged to embark on his own journey of discovery!
idfc mutual funds - social media
Bound by numerous industry regulations, it is often a challenge for financial institutions to venture into social media. The need of the hour was to be relevant to the everyday Facebook user. Nobody wants to see drab financial content, least of all on their Facebook newsfeed.
Deriving inspiration from the “Simple and Effective" strategy that helped the IDFC website revolutionize the mutual fund industry a year before, we once again decided to do the opposite of what everybody is doing. Instead of posting insipid quotes, irrelevant news and intrusive promotions, we set out to actually make a difference in the customer’s life!
We thus embarked on ‘Simple on Social’ - with fun, engaging and practical tips that simplified saving, spending and investment. Coupled with delightful illustrations and infographics in IDFC’s trademark style, our tips, tricks and advice were not just restricted to mutual funds, but encompassed everything from stocks, retirement, shopping, home-buying, alternative investments to useful mobile apps!
